As part of the patient care process, I collect personal and sensitive data about my patients and clients. I am required to collect and evaluate this data as part of my statutory duties under the Chiropractors act 1994, by the General Chiropractic Council, the British Association for Nutritional Therapists (BANT) and the CNHC.
I am required to maintain patient records for a minimum of 8 years following your last treatment, or in the case of children, 8 years after their 16th birthday whichever falls first.
Your data will not be shared with anyone at all without your express permission. Examples of the people with whom I may request to share your data are:
- Your GP
- Another Chiropractor who may be acting as a locum in my clinic during my absence.
If you are seeing me as a Nutritional Therapy client, I may use your data in order to facilitate any testing which might be relevant to you.
Any paper data that I hold is maintained in locked filing cabinets, none of the electronic devices that I use in connection with my work are unprotected.

You have the right to access the data that I hold about you, to request rectification of data and/or to request erasure (subject to the statutory 8 year retention period). You may request copies of your data if you wish.
You have the right to complain about how your data is being used, should you wish to complain, please contact me in the first instance.
