Joanna became involved in homeopathy after long bouts of severe throat and chest infections.
After one doctor told Joanna her throat was “the worst they’d seen in years” she went to a homeopath. After successful treatment Joanna decided the time had come to leave her job in the army and train to be a homeopath.
Joanna graduated from the University of Westminster in 2005 with a first class BSc honours degree in Integrated Health and Homeopathy and she set up her first of several clinics.
Between 2006 and 2007 she attended a postgraduate Paediatric Homeopathy course as she wanted to further develop her ability to treat babies and children. Joanna completed the Orion Advanced Homeopathy Course in 2013 and the CEASE therapy course in July 2014.
Currently she is studying the 2 year International Academy of Classical Homeopathy e-learning course, taught by the inspirational Professor George Vithoulkas.
As continual professional development is the cornerstone of Joanna’s practice, she has attended seminars on homeopathy with homeopaths such as Farokh Master, Christina Head, Divya Chhabra and Dr Liz Thompson to name but a few.
She also has a supervisor with whom she refines her work on a regular basis and is a member of both the National Society of Homeopaths and its local Winchester and Oxfordshire groups.
Joanna has treated patients from conception to those in their late nineties and has always been humbled and awed by the impact homeopathy can have on people’s health and lives.
In addition to her homeopathic work Joanna is a trained NCT Antenatal Teacher which has enhanced her understanding of conception and development of the baby in the womb, as well as her teaching ability and experience.
Joanna is better been able to understand and meet the needs of the baby and parents at this exciting time, both homeopathically and otherwise.
Joanna is a mum of two boys, and currently lives and as well as working from Highworth Holistic Health practises in the Shrivenham/Faringdon area on the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire border.
Joanna enjoys cooking (mostly organic and sometimes raw!), gardening, keeping a few chickens and cycling.
Tamara is a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist. She completed her training at the Cotswold Academy in Cirencester in September 2018…
… gaining a Sports and Remedial Massage qualification to iTEC level 4. She is a member of the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists). Soft tissue dysfunction can cause pain, discomfort, weakness, reduced mobility and postural deformities. Taking part in sporting activities can create this dysfunction, however the most common causes tend to be the repetitive movements, injuries, stress, and poor posture that we experience in our every day lives.
Therefore, this type of complementary therapy can be hugely beneficial to most people, not just those who take part in sports!
Being trained to level 4, Tamara is qualified and insured to use a number of different techniques to manipulate the soft tissues of the body such as myofascial release, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, MET (muscle energy techniques) and STR (soft tissue release).
Tamara has a real love of sports, is a keen runner and leads a very active lifestyle. The benefits she personally experienced from having Sports Massage treatments whilst training for her events heavily influenced her decision to train specifically in this type of complementary therapy and one of the many reasons she is so passionate about it.
and she offers: warm bamboo…
… deep tissue massage and reflexology lymphatic drainage (RLD)
among others, so she can tailor your session to your needs.
